Week 28 - Silhouette
After first learning of the challenge for this week, I immediately thought of doing some intricate studio lighting setup in my studio to get the perfect studio silhouette... of something. Still life? One of the cats? A human subject, perhaps? Then when it came time to execute, two things happened:
- I really didn't want to do anything in the studio, because I was feeling lazy and didn't want to set up everything for the shot. Don't judge.
- I wanted to do something a bit more organic. A studio shot would have been super easy and quick, after of course setting everything up. Grabbing just a camera and waiting for the right light and subject would require more effort, and I was up for that challenge.
Elara was my Plan A, actually. I wanted to take a few shots in the evening sun of her being active and playing. I figured I would get some images of her, then go out and find something else to shoot instead. After looking through the images though, I really liked this one, so I decided my work was done! Don't worry though, there will be other silhouettes to capture in the future!
