Week 47 - Wabi-Sabi

Week 47 - Wabi-Sabi

For this week's photo challenge, I was supposed to think a little differently, and find beauty in an imperfect subject. Wabi-Sabi is from the Japanese and Buddhist teachings to learn to appreciate things that are not perfect, and that imperfection is not something bad or wrong, but can be beautiful. We can look at an ordinary object and find it fascinating or even extraordinary or beautiful.

I love to photograph people's hands because they tell the story of a person's life. They are full of all these little lines, and bumps, and variations of color, all of which when combined, show a beauty all their own.
